Scripture II
22 February 2016 Eschatological Sermon
Matthews interpretation of the Eschatological Sermon deal with what eschatology is, which is the study of the end of human times when judgement day comes. From a biblical perspective, history is not circular, but linear. This means moving in God's mission for us is essential for a good after life with Him. Eschatology focuses on the redemptive work of Christ, which means that it is not as focused on the future than it is with the first coming of Christ and present day salvation and faith. The goal of eschatology, is not to foretell or satisfy human curiosity about future events, but rather to challenge the hearts of people today in the light of God's future
