My dad had picked us up from school and said we had an important family gathering that day. After setting our bags down at our house, we went straight to the church in Oakland to gather as a family one last time with our grandfather. I was happy, but mostly hurt when I saw him lying with his arms crossed in his coffin. The first thing I said to him

It says in the book of acts that "and they said, believe on the lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, And thy house" (act 16:31, KJV). Looking back on my passed five years of knowing Jesus I would describe it as a rollercoaster ride. Back in sixith grade I was going through a transition from Crosswalk to Hang time, Elementary School to middle school, and ultimately finding who I was and knowing Jesus. It was my 2011 Hangtime Winter Whiteout when I accepted Jesus into my life. Every year we do this thing called " Cry Night " that Winter Whiteout in particular we watched clips from "The Passion of Christ " and it was to the song " How He Loves " by David Crowder.…

The Preface of N.T. Wright's book, The Challenge of Jesus: Rediscovering Who Jesus Was and Is, explains what Wright's intent and purposes were for writing this book. Wright's purposes for writing this book was to show who the real Jesus was, what his teachings meant and how they can be applied to the modern society. Wright presumes that Christians go Sunday to Sunday repeating scripture and repeating the same things over and over, not fully analyzing what the text is saying. He claims that people need to analyze who Jesus really was and what his teachings really meant to fully grasp his purpose on Earth and how it affects humans in today's modern society.…

When my son’s and I converse generally we talk about the events of their day. recently my oldest son (13) calls and tells me of a bully who has called him names and my son is asking what he should do, how should he respond? The gospels in the Bible are subjective; they do not just state facts, they are a narration about Jesus’ life and works, which makes it open to interpretation. Everyone has their own concept for Jesus’ ideals of his powers. The only source for historical Jesus is found in the four gospels. While the four gospels have similarities, they also contradict each other. They were also released years after Jesus’ death, and they are not first-hand accounts.…
