Many Churches across the nation have a youth ministry that offers children the opportunity to learn about their divine designer through Scriptural teachings in youth Sunday schools, and other ministering groups supported within the church family. Although, it does help the youth learn about God, Son, and Spirit it falls short in helping children build a closer relationship with God. Children do need to understand what the Bible is all about, but above all, they need to learn how to develop a relationship with God. Moreover, the earlier a person can discover and mature in having a relationship with their Creator—the earlier they can experience His work in their life. This helps children experience His grace and mercy for him or her—eternal life (John 3:16, New International Version or NIV). As expressed by Balswick and Balswick (2014) “Once again, God’s covenant serves as an analogy. Unconditional faithfulness and love form the foundation” (p. 145). The Church is central to God’s family and children need to understand God wants them to be in His family. Cohesively, God’s Word teaches, “To all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12, NIV). More than ever, in this generation, young children need to get close to God. When young children learn to build a connection with their Eternal Father they learn they can go to Him in prayer—talk to God when they feel angry, sad, worried, happy, glad, and thankful. In…
