Gerry expressed how the legislature could possibly have a dangerous future for all States. He predicted a possibility of infiltration by negative and undesirable leadership, he believed their negativity could influence two-thirds of the Senate to allow treaties to be formed by the President, and he also believed there would be no protected and secure bill of rights.
The amendment 26-Poll Tax Barred. Ratified 1/23/1964 explained how United States citizens have the right to vote in any type of primary election, for the Vice President, President, Senator, and/or Congressional Representative, if they failed to pay a poll tax (Political Tea, 2008). However, the amendment states any person in the US cannot be declined of a right to vote, due to poll tax.
The US Constitution was designed, prior to the 1930’s, by individuals who defined rights as being extremely negative, (Szabo, 2005). The Fourteenth Amendment was instructed to secure our lives, property, and allow all people equal protection of the law. Unfortunately, the government will only react, after a person has experienced imprisonment, children having to be restricted to attend public schools only, and being deprived of all liberty and
