Ted Kaczynski's Domestic Terrorism

While groups like these are powerful and threat becomes large, there are people who commit domestic terrorist attacks on their own such as Ted Kaczynski, also known as the Unabomber. In the late seventies, Kaczynski first attack was done via a bomb he sent to a professor at the Northwestern University. Then later sent another one to the same school later, but this was not the end of his streak. He went on to have an extensive seventeen year career of terror. In which he eventually took the lives of three people and injured many more. Today’s threats and have become more lethal and lucrative ever since the attacks on September 11, which note was in fact an act of international terrorism, but never the less there has been an increase of domestic terrorism ever since the appearance of Al Qaeda and the attacks on September 11th 2001. Also since then there has been sixty known terrorist plots against the United States, out of those sixty there has been forty plots planned and executed by homegrown terrorist. Also, in this stage they gravitate away from the mosque and start looking into the more radical and violent area of this ideology their militant group the jihad. Finally, the jihadization is the stage where the person now feels part of this jihad and a holy warrior or a mujahid (Wright,2011) This is also the stage where the person may start planning an attack and building weapons to go forth with their plans.
