The Beatles Music itself has been a huge part in history, through the times of slavery to the sixties to the present day. Many artists, like Bo Diddley, Elvis Presley, and Eric Clapton, contribute to the evolution of rock and roll. To many people, The Beatles are considered one of the most successful and influential bands in rock and roll history. They have had countless hits, several movies, and even a cartoon that aired during the sixties. The Beatles have been and will always be a major impact on rock and roll. Before The Beatles had officially formed, John Lennon was the leader of the band Quarry Men with bassist Stuart Sutcliffe in 1957 (“History of The Beatles”). Through a mutual friend, Lennon met Paul McCartney. Lennon had asked McCartney to join Quarry Men from amazed with McCartney’s capability to play and tune a guitar. However, Sutcliffe left the band to pursue his own career as an artist. Subsequently, McCartney persuaded Lennon to allow his friend, George Harrison audition, even though Harrison was only fourteen years old (“History of The Beatles”). Lennon was also impressed with Harrison, and he also joined Quarry Men. At this point, in 1960, the band members of Quarry Men were John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Pete Best (Kane). Before becoming The Beatles, the band went through several names changes.
