Our children, our children’s children and their children will know who the Beatles are. They will study their unique musical style, they will dissect their lyrics, put their songs on repeat and buy all their albums in order to see their progression. Why has the music of the Beatles remained so popular after all these years? In order to understand that you would have to take a long hard look into the structure of their songs. It is the songs that hold the key to their longevity. The majority of this the song is soft and really allows the lyrics to speak for themselves. The instruments used do not overpower the words and do not take away from what John Lennon wanted to express with this song. They also used a variety of unconventional sounds to emphasize the mood they created, such as a cowbell and hand clapping. For the melody and chorus, John sings it in an almost a whisper like tone. However, about ¾ of the way through the song the whole tone changes and the song starts to pick up the tempo a little.
