It is indeed true that the 1861-1865 American civil war described the United States having clearly shown that the current states which were by then territories are all under one sovereign national government. Despite having different levels of power (state governments), the states which are now united and coupled up as the United States of America are placed under one federal government having a republican or a democrat as the president and also the head of the sovereign government. The generals were meant to ensure proper execution of counter-attack plans. The general from the Northern led his troops to the Southern, same case to the Southern generals. However, Southern generals like Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson were not so brilliant. This is because; as much as they had proper execution attacks plans they did not understand much of the power that the North had. They failed to understand the topography of the North and the population that the North enjoyed.
They neglected the fact that the North having had a growing economy also had an excellent infrastructural system which facilitated easy movement of the troops to and from the war zones. They were not brilliant also having failed to recognize that the Northern had the financial power and many manufacturing plants which were to be used to manufacture weapons and also to recruit more troops into the war. Therefore they should have looked at these aspects before launching any attack on the northern part because at the end the North had some comparative
