Teenage Drug Addiction Teenage drug addiction is a problem that has been increasing throughout society today. Drug addiction can stop us from accomplishing goals or dreams in life. People often believe they are too bright, too powerful, and too much in control to become addictive. But addiction can trap anyone. The sooner people seek help for drug addiction problems; the better they are at gaining control of their life once again. In the research paper I will explore the influences of drug abuse; the five drugs that are most used today, the physical and physiological effects of drugs and what can be done to prevent drug abuse.

Everybody knows bad things will happen to teens that use drugs. They become addicted. It is possible they will have serious or even fatal health problems. They can ruin their personal, social or even professional lives if they have one. But why do young people start taking drugs in the first place? What are the causes of drug use among young people?

One cause is curiosity. Many teens hear about drugs, and are curious to experience them for themselves. They hear that drugs are fun, and make a person feel different. Maybe they’ve witnessed their friends or family members behave differently while on drugs, and they want to try it out. Many teens encounter them at school, at home or in their neighborhood.
