It is completely understandable that the population of Texas has an ever growing increase of Hispanic population Texas was once part of Mexico, and it shares a large boarder with Mexico. Because of this, Texas immigrants are primarily from Mexico. What is surprising is the rate of increase. Hispanics tend to have higher birth rates than other ethnicities. Traditionally, Hispanics are Catholic, and the Catholic Church does not believe in birth control. Agrarian societies tend to have more children, so they have more help with the daily work. Hispanics do not have adequate access to education. Hispanics also have lower high school graduations rates than Anglos,. Education is the key to a successful future-and becoming a good little tax payer. Hispanics tend to have lower paying jobs, which leads to a greater need for welfare programs. So, if the majority of the Texas population does not have access to educational institution and are unable to obtain good paying jobs, there will be a great dependence on welfare programs with no tax money to fund them. There are measures that can be taken now to help alleviate these issues in the future. Education reform is at the top of the list. Anyone who access to a quality education can achieve a high school diploma, and even go on to college. Hispanics have a better chance at becoming good little tax payers, and obtaining profitable careers if there is access to quality education. Also, making job training opportunities and adult education courses more readily available in Hispanic communities would increase higher paying job opportunities.
