During the months of May and June the Delaware Academy high school art students learned how to paint a landscape with acrylic paint on canvas board with muralist and artist Joanna Murphy. The students learned to make connections between their personal experiences and landscapes. The student's paintings describe an outdoor space that meant something to them and how artist visually evoke the feeling of a place. The students learned about the elements of art; color, line, shape, size, direction, value and texture which are the building blocks used to create all work of art.
In addition to our classroom project several high school students will help paint the mural.
