Conversation analysis has been able to identify such significant communication encounters that take place in institutional settings, that it may be the answer to formulating such a collaboration. The close examination of video recorded pediatric encounters will be able to illustrate that physicians and patients have assumptions, desires, fears, and expected outcomes inside pediatric centers. This plays into future health challenges because if such expectations are not identified and addressed, then they will remain challenges rather than improvements. The method of CA is distinctive because it is able to successfully identify, address, and resolve institutional challenges through the use of raw data. The goal is to extend such research into the realm of pediatric centers where physicians and parents are able to align with one another. Such a partnership would be able to improve the quality of healthcare and ultimately bridge the gap between parent and physician
