Problem and Its Setting
Every developing country like the Philippines encounters many problems and one of the most prominent problems is the educational system. They say that education is the very answer to poverty, corruption, hate and ignorance but it is always the educational system that takes the biggest share of the blame. According to Ibon facts and figures (2009), the literacy rate in the Philippines has regressed a lot over the last ten years. This is attributed to the declining quality, relevance and accessibility of education, the very basic rights of the Filipino youth. Many problems are mentioned except the problem regarding the attitudes of the students toward their academic performance.

In able for every human being to gain knowledge, one ought to come in school to train to work independently. Schools are being classified public or government and private or non-government. In considering public and private high schools there will be one or more factors concern. Public and private high school differs in school size and class size, teaching, budgets, religious and moral instruction, special programs, quality of teachers, academic reputations and administrative support services which can affect the students’ study habits.
There are many factors that affect study habits that a teacher and parents must know. The parents can help the school much in infusing correct study habits at home. What was taught to the children in school must have a follow-up at home.
