Spirit Airlines Marketing Strategy

Spirit Airlines employs good-value pricing because it offers consumers with a low-cost seat on a plane with no added features or services. It does not add extra features or services to justify charging higher prices which occurs with value-added pricing. Spirit Airlines charges customers for a seat on the airplane and charges extra fees for any other services or features. Even though Spirit’s prices are basically the same as its competition, the pricing strategy is truly different. While there are other airlines that offer “cheap” flights, Spirit offers the cheapest. It takes away all added services and features and just charges for a seat on the plane. Fees are charged for everything from a bottle of water to checking a carry-on bag. There are no other airlines that just charge for a seat and then add fees for all additional services. …show more content…
Spirit’s pricing strategy is sustainable. It seems like it would not be because with its pricing strategy, customer service is not a high priority. Many consumers are willing to sacrifice the experience they have while flying to pay substantially less for their tickets.
