Spinal Cord injury is identified as the damage to any part of the spinal cord or nerves near the end of the spine canal. Spinal injury causes permanent damage in use of the body including sensation.

How can we Prevent this?
1. Safe Driving - The number one cause of spinal injury comes from car crashes. Seat belts are a must when driving in any vehicle. Children under age 12 should always ride in the back with a car seat if available.
2. Check water depth before diving - Make sure you don't dive into shallow water. Always have a lifeguard on site and never fool around the pool. Ensure you know the depth of the pool at all times before diving or jumping in.
3. Prevent falls - Use a step stool to reach objects in high places. Place mats ad
