Social Workers Being Burnout A social workers have various roles to play, nevertheless is never really thanked for what they do for their clients. Social work is an awesome field to take an interest in and pursue. Within this field, a social worker promotes social change. Many consider a social worker a family and relationship counselors because they are problem-solvers to every encounter and situation imaginable. They enhance and ensure the well-being of the society. Within this field, a social worker has the opportunity and able to save countless lives every day, whether they are babies, teens, young adults, or older adults. Social workers play an important role. Reason being, they are the first people that clients contact when a problem or situation occurs. They provide clients with hope and encouragement and reassure them that their life is not all that terrible. The first encounter with a client is very significant. During my internship at Naomi Family, I learned that these first sessions were called “intake sessions”. Within the “intake sessions”, social workers assisted the client to understand why they needed assistance and where assistance was available to them. In addition, social workers address the client with services, resources, and opportunities, which provide them with the help they need.
