As single human being we all shows signs of separation in our inner circle, as time pass by we generate a self-concepts about our self and other that define our uniqueness. Social Psychology is the study of the constant changing relationship between individuals and the people around them. How our thoughts, feeling, belief and goals are construct goals. Our interaction with other around us play vital role in the process of understanding our relationship with each other, because consciously or not its influence our behavior and shapes our lives. Cognitive empathy and affective empathy they both provide a foundation for guiding our behavior toward others. Cognitive empathy is the ability to understand the thoughts and feelings of others. In other words, it’s putting yourself in someone else shoes, others called this perspective thinking as well. Cognitive empathy is responsible to perceived when one sees something they comprehend and adopts their perspective. People that acquire these type of empathy can be found in office and business environment. While affective empathy is the drive to respond with an appropriate emotion to what someone is feeling. Is basically refers to a rapport and chemistry, making someone feel that you understand their situation. People with affective empathy make good counselors and teachers. There’re numerous of protest cross-nation, one in specify is the anti-Trump demonstration in the City of New York. According to the NY Times, the people in NYC has come together and organized one of the largest anti-Trump demonstration since the election. A mass of people marched from Union Square in Manhattan to Trump Tower, the headquarters and his home. People on the street-shouting he is not my president, showing their discontent with his personal behavior and his ideology. People who are loving father and mother are getting united for one cause, and although deindividuation is usually used to shows an act of violence like the protest against Trump. They possess a factor that’s undeniable and it’s the fact they usually fight for what they want and follow their group lead and replaced their identity and gain a collective identity. Even though that allow them to exhibit behavior they would never show in other circumstances.
In nutshell, the five concepts that we discussed are necessary to understand our relationship with other around us. Some of them we are just lucky to see it on television and not in our lives, but others unfortunately had vividly encounter with some of this situation like seeing a school being shoot or knowing someone that committed suicide.
