During the civil rights movement, many marches were conducted including the famous “Selma” march to demonstrate the desire African Americans had to vote. When it came to women's suffrage, women marched across the town to gain the attention they rightfully deserved so they could vote. In more current times, People came together across the whole United States to conduct in a peaceful protest to demonstrate their anger against our President Donald Trump being elected. It's the attention they receive as people watch them march around. It's the message for why they are marching. They are causing a scene and when more people pay attention, they collect a platform. It's about disrupting a normal day to show that there are people that care about the cause. If anything it's to show that they are going to fight for a change, to blow some steam off at the opposing opinion. For people to come across these people and to say what they are not doing anything to fight the cause is a jab at their right to free speech. Those people, including my roommate may not see the change right away but eventually, history has proved this, change happens. If they must march around with signs to create a scene to get their point across then so do it, I hope they never
