There are numerous kids in the world who have a lot of difficulties when it comes to sleep time be it an afternoon nap or at night. If you are one of the parents whose kid has sleep associated problem, receive my empathy. It is the best I can do; sympathize, because it can be a very frustrating situation not only to the kids but also to you. Simply because no parent can fall asleep if the kids are ranting, throwing tantrums or even just playing around in the house during bedtime. There are several problems that kids experience when it is time to sleep or even while sleeping, some of these problems fall under the umbrella, sleep disorders. Some of these sleep disorders are discussed below.

This disorder is exceptional among infants and toddler who always need to be fed before they can sleep. As a parent, you may be thinking they you are helping them but you are not. For a child who is above eight months, the midnight feedings will cause you a lot as they grow. They are slowly learning to associate feeding with sleep. What will happen when you will be required to be away from home for a night because of an unavoidable cause and you cannot take your kid with you? If the child has already formed a habit, rehabilitate that child. Reduce the breast feeding and increase the quantity of food they eat. Every time the child wants to sleep and they throw a fit because they want to breast feed, wait it out for half an hour before giving in. each and every time wait an hour longer. Even when they wakeup suddenly in the middle of the night, do not be too quick to breast feed them.
NIGHT TERRORS.
This disorder is also referred to as sleep terror. It is associated with feelings of terror or dread while asleep. Unlike nightmares, sleep terrors are presented physically by the child. For a parent, this can be very disturbing specifically because you may want to help your child but you do not have an idea of what they are dealing with. A combination of the two: an individual is not putting any effort to breath and at the same time they have blocked airways.
The treatment for this is by one changing their lifestyle especially people suffering from obesity, undergoing surgery for corrective measures or using breathing devices like CPAP machines.
RESTLESS LEG MOVEMENTS.
This disorder is characterized by a child constantly moving their legs to get some sort of relief from feelings of throbbing, pulling, creeping or any other irritating sensations in their legs. The symptoms are triggered whenever a child is relaxing or getting some rest. If they have spent the whole night kicking, a child usually wakes up exhausted and fatigued for the most part of the day.
NARCOLEPSY.
This is a disorder that is associated with an overwhelming feeling of sleepiness, sleep paralysis, hallucinations and to some extent cataplexy. When a child is suffering from narcolepsy, you will be able to tell because they have no control over their sleeping time because at any given time they can just fall asleep. It can even be within an activity.
