Bend it like Beckham shows an Indian girl named Jesminder that is super passionate about soccer but the only thing that stands in her way is her Sikh parents who believe that Indian girls shouldn’t play sports. This movie tries to enlighten the audience about how Indian girls are seen as; just a puppet that is suppose to follow rules. The film outlines the pros and cons of gender role. The idea of this film is basically blending a culture and trying to hold on to traditional views and ideas.

Had it not been for equality in women, females would have it much more difficult in todays times. The basic ideas for both of these movies were to show how sexism still continues to haunt females in minor cases. The ordeals that women have to face just because they’re girls still exist today. It may not be in California, but it sure is being oppressed on a female right now in a different country. Both of the movies did a good job addressing the issue, and I hope people learned from
