The most significant challenge I’ve faced is trying to balance all those activities. I know I could've gotten ahead and started my application once it opened, because I would've had more time to plan what colleges I was interested in, but I didn’t. October has just started and so have I on the applications. Innately, I am a very tentative individual because I make decisions only to change my mind later. In order to work through this challenge I have to prioritize my academics and extracurriculars while amalgamating college applications as well as gaining confidence in the decisions I make. …show more content…
I am receiving decent grades, but I know I can do better. I find this challenge significant in my life because everything I’ve done in high school will now be showcased to potential colleges, which will ultimately determine my success in the future. If I’m unable to to balance all these tasks I’m not prepared for the college workload. I’ve definitely had unconditional support from my friends and family. They encourage me to finish my college applications as soon as I can, so that the level of stress I'm in can diminish. Nevertheless, there is only so much my peers and family can do to offer me support. Most of the time I am working through my challenge on my own because I don’t want to add the extra pressure on my parents. I refrain from making hasty decisions, a trait that’s made it easier to manage time and keep my life organized. It’s not that I don’t enjoy some spontaneity, just that I’ve had experience with faulty planning. I like to consider as many details and possible outcomes of a situation before making a decision; in fact, I believe it’s my best characteristic. Thinking things through allows me to make sound, satisfying choices in both my academic and social life. “I know applying to colleges is the last thing you want to do right now, but you might change your mind,” a trusted friend told me. It was December of my senior year of high school, and college application deadlines were approaching quickly. I was recovering from a major illness at the time, and wasn’t ready to think about college. My plan was to spend a year living at home and working before I pursued higher education. Unlike many of my peers, my life story is slightly different. Many of my peers share the story of living in a single parent home, being homeless, violence, and poverty. For me, living in a two parent household means more work because of my desire to receive a full scholarship. Upon my research, I noticed that many of my older peers would receive better college financial opportunities because of their life experiences.…

Throughout the course of our lives, we move into many different realms. This can range from going to work or moving your place of residence. There is a set amount of work that we must do in order to make this transition from one realm to another. For example, a father might have to wake his kids up in the morning and send them off to school before he goes to work where he then changes his role to be a worker instead of a father.
