Senior Project Challenges

Obstacles I also had to overcome were with the inner feelings I overcame from situations put in my life. Feelings that gave me lack of motivation and kept me from giving the attention this senior project deserved. Looking back on those situations, I wish they guided me to do better and use them as a motivation. All the time and energy that didn’t go into this project until last minute caused me re-evaluate me as a student and person. As a student I realized bad habits I’ve possessed for so long need to change for me to be successful in the upcoming future. On this project my time management was dreadful and the biggest thing I would change if the opportunity to do the senior project all over again was given to me. As a person, I need to work

Goals are an imperative part of life. They allow us to track our progress towards our ultimate goal: happiness. In an effort to accomplish these smaller goals, there are always obstacles that people face, both big and small. My intrinsic ambition for these projects has led to my obsession to not fail and to see things through. Of course, my ambition has led me down paths that are certainly inconceivable, but many successful ideas as we all know come from those radical notions that keep us awake at night. I have always been taught that ambition is a powerful tool and I believe that it has gotten me thus far. Many of us that attended Burlington High School are incredibly fortunate.…

I would love to be a member of the senior planning team because the senior planning team helps promote change within the school. I believe, along with many other leadership teams at Alpena High School, the senior planning team is empowered by the staff, administration, and other seniors to make important decisions that powerfully impact the school and senior class. Without the senior planning team, many decisions would be left to the staff/administration to decide and, while this is still an excellent way to accomplish tasks, it removes the student involvement in the school. I am so grateful to have a school that values student input because it teaches its students how to take responsibility for their learning environment. As a member of the…

Some challenges I’ve had to overcome start with me needing to get my life fixed. I used to be the student in high school that didn’t care about how they looked or what grades they got. I had no self-confidence in who I was and I had no aspirations on what I wanted to do with my life. Once high school was over life hit me and I needed to stop being the person I was because it was getting me nowhere in life. Now that I changed my attitude and my lifestyle I now get good grades and I finally feel that I have a clear future for…

At first I wasn’t sure what I would do my senior project on. I went through choice and choice and after not being able to go to 2 of my choices I decided I really want to do something with construction. So I asked my counselor and he asked me what I would really be interested in, something I would like to do besides my 24/7 hobby of singing. So I told him I want to try and do something with construction. A few problems I ran into during search for a project/interest of mine was, too much thinking, talking about many things to do but none seemed as interesting as I thought they would be.…

I wish our group had more time to plan everything out, rather than rushing to finish everything within a two week time period. Our group did not work together as well as I had hoped for. I came up with the idea and also spent a lot of time photoshopping each of the pictures for our project. I feel as though if I did not come up with the idea or begin to work on the project, my group would have been lost. Also, two of my group members barely showed up to class, which resulted in them not knowing what was going on.…

My life began to spiral downward before fifth grade began. I found myself an endless loop over summer vacation of waking up, experiencing the day as a blur, sleep, then repeat. This drove me to discover a new way to spend my day. On the television I noticed a recurring advertisement for a game called ‘World of Warcraft’. At first I instilled the mindset that I could spend my time pragmatically but eventually I succumbed to boredom.…

Ever set a goal for yourself, like making Honour Roll, losing weight and getting fit, or being picked for Valedictorian? Like lots of seniors that had contracted Senioritis, maybe you started with drive and hope, but then started showing symptoms; lack of motivation, excess sleeping, repeated absences and generally having a dismissive attitude. Just like everyone else, I am struggling with staying motivated towards the end of my last high school year. It is easy for a student to spend hours on YouTube, but when it comes to school assignments, after a half hour, it is break time. Is there any way to get past the senioritis mentality?…

It was occasionally a hard process, but I still tried my hardest. I refused to give up on my goal. I had many friends who made it even more difficult for me. Instead of bringing me up and encouraging me they put me down about it. They constantly told me that I would eventually mess up and ruin my goal, but i didn’t let them get to me and discourage me from achieving my goal.…

I am not perfect so I have to accept that in my life is inevitably, but in fact beneficially, messy shades of grey.
