Why is There Scarcity of Nurses in U.S.A. Nurses play great roles to make the lives of the patients and their families easier and somehow lessen the difficulties that patients are going through with their health problems. In fact, these nurses are the direct point of contacts of patients: without them, patients would find difficulty to survive in a hospital environment wherein discomfort inevitably occurs. Inasmuch as possible, these nurses make great sacrifices to the point of working 24/7 just to cater the needs of the patients as well as assist the doctors in their jobs. However, the work of a nurse is not easy at all. She is often subject to health risk and expose to a not suitable hospital environment. Checking the vital signs of patients from time to time especially during night time is challenging. Eating within the hospital with the presence of undesirable dirt is a problem. Being subject to abuse by violent patients and receiving insults from demanding family members of patients usually happen within a hospital or nursing facility. The above-mentioned factors together with low salaries and wages, lack of adequate benefits, difficulty in training to be a nurse, problems in handling difficult situations and some other factors cause the decline of nurses practicing in their respective professions and end up in early …show more content…
