He had inspired me not once, but twice in my school career: to become a knowledgeable student and to influence Latino students who struggled the same way that we have. Of course, one of my first questions would be how stressful and dangerous it was to make the school blowouts happen? What did you do to motivate these children to join you out in the streets and possibly risk their family's’ safety and wellbeing? Fear is a driving force than even the most courageous have trouble overcoming, and when it comes time for me to fight against similar issues, I would love to have some background knowledge from one who is experienced. I want to know what it felt like to act through this in the most dismal of times, what it took for him to be motivated. For me, I know I have my own motive to keep on going: my family, their reputation, and to represent my culture. To know he shared the same original inspiration would be reassuring that I am in the right track. Lastly, I would simply like to thank him. If it was not for him, I do not believe I would be in the position I am today: accepted into prestigious universities, top 1% in my class, a regular volunteer in my community, and passionate for my Spanish culture. I want to do the same that he did to impact not only history, but to drive our people forward in society and give them all a better
