a. Australia’s Political System
Consumers in Australia have high disposable incomes, where it allows them to spend freely on beverage and food items. The competition is strong in the dairy industry. Where the competition is so strong no single business is able to force another leading business out of the market, by this it ensures that the competition remains high (Australian Government, n.d.). Australia is thriving domestic agribusiness sectors and is one of the world’s largest exporters of key agriculture commodities including dairy products, and meat.

These regulations focus on ensuring the Australian dairy industry is safe, up to standard, and the sale of daily products is done so in an ethical manner (Dairy Australia, n.d.). In terms of regulations regarding time restraints and media for advertisement in Australia, there is not much in place. Those working in the dairy industry in Australia rely on a deregulated industry environment, which means international pricing plays a major role. Therefore, the more opportunity allowed for advertising is better for the Australian dairy industry (Dairy Australia, n.d.). However, there are some concerns with the deregulation of the dairy industry in Australia and they are currently being addressed.

The Australian government regulations are to ensure that farmers deliver an acceptable standard of care for their animals. For example, the “Milk Life Campaign” was launched in the United States to idealize the benefits of milk in one’s diet. One benefit this campaign has mentioned is the high protein found in milk. Another benefit this campaign has showcased is the affordability. These two benefits are great ways to help the United States compete in the international market because it ensures the quality of their products (IDFA: International Dairy Foods Association, 2016).
b. Competitive Branding
In order for the competitor’s brand products to make it to my specific international market, they must abide by some of the same regulations. For example, the ethical aspect, which can include how the dairy products are created and what is used to make them. Therefore, if they want to compete in the best way, they can strategize by researching what we do in Australia and see how they can be better.
