Roger Sherman was a early American statesman and lawyer before he become a United States Representative and Founding Father. Roger was born April 19, 1721 and sadly died on July 23, 1793. Roger was born in Newton MA and went to Yale for collage. During his childhood he spent his time farming and learning shoemade trade. He did indeded go to a public school but he mostly learned from self education. Once his family moved he took a bar exam and passed it without any formal knowledge. As we know Roger Sherman is already a very smart man and he is capable of many things. While at the Constitutional Convention he served as a Connecticut representative. He was one of the oldest person at the convention and was a very good speaker. While at the Constitutional Convention he was the one that came up with the Great Compromise. What that is is was an agreement that both large and small states reached during the Constitutional Convention of 1787 that in part defined the legislative structure and representation that each state would have under the United States.
