It seemed like it was just a normal Saturday afternoon, the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. Deformities can cause medical issues for people. Rhinoplasty, which is usually referred to as a nose job, is the surgical procedure to correct the nose. Some people require rhinoplasty to correct a deviated septum when they suffer from breathing problems. A deviated septum is “a condition in which the nasal septum, which is the bone and cartilage that divide the nasal cavity of the nose in half, is significantly off center, or crooked, making breathing difficult.” (WebMD) Without the benefit of rhinoplasty, people who suffer from this deformity would have to live their whole lives in discomfort; even causing other physical ailments such as circulation and heart problems. Congenital facial deformities such as a cleft lip also require cosmetic surgery. A cleft lip “can range in severity from a slight notch in the red part of the upper lip to a complete separation of the lip extending into the nose. “Clefts can occur on one or both sides of the upper lip.” (Greenville Health System) Cleft lips only appear at birth and surgery is usually preformed when the baby is about 10 weeks old. Another example of when cosmetic surgery is greatly needed is in Craniosynostosis. “Craniosynostosis is a problem with the skull that causes a baby’s head to be oddly shaped.” (Greenville Health System) Without cosmetic surgery for Craniosynostosi babies can suffer from brain damage, seizures, and
