Pierre-Auguste Renoir was a famous leader within the Impressionist movement in the 1800’s. Renoir was born in Limoges, France: February 25, 1841 to a tailor and seamstress. His family moved in Paris around 1844 which was an area that was heavy with french porcelain factories. During his teen years he was able to get a job at one of these factories which began him in painting. Renoir was chosen to paint, or decorate the fine porcelain, leading him to make contacts with the customers of the factories.
