Renewable Energy : Solar Energy Essay
Wind Energy is an effect of the sun 's uneven heating of the atmosphere. Wind energy is commonly harnessed by turbines. Wind is formed when warm air expands and rises up, while cold air condenses and sinks. Wind energy can be used to power boats or even charge a battery. Although, it 's almost a perfect choice, it has its setbacks. The generators need a lot of land in order to function properly and if they catch fire can destroy the environment around, while damaging habitats.
Solar Energy is formed by photovoltaic cells that are able to change sunlight into electricity. Solar energy is usually harnessed by solar panels on different type of architecture. It is considered an unlimited source because the Sun has a longer lifespan than the Earth. There are two types of solar energy, passive and active. Although the sun will outlive Earth, the instillation of solar panels are expensive and useless in areas that do not receive a good amount of sunlight.
Geothermal Energy is formed from the heat inside of the Earth. Geothermal Energy is found through volcanoes, geysers, hot springs, and more. Wells are usually dug in order to bring the steam to surface, powering turbines which create electricity. A flaw of geothermal energy is that it is only productive if the steam is being reproduced as fast as it is being used. Geothermal energy is not available to all…
