The chapter is based on a brief literature review regarding the main theme of the study. The literature is based on the aims and objectives that are evaluated in the introduction chapter in order to form understanding regards the focus of the dissertation and the get diverse opinion in context of the impact of employee turnover and organisation productivity in the case study of Tesco Plc.

2.1. Relationship between Turnover and Organisational Productivity

It is seen in the report of Jiang (2012) that employee turnover and organisational productivity are related to each other as the productivity of an organisation is directly related to the performance of the organisation and it is one of the most difficult tasks for Tesco to balance the performance

Therefore, it is the reason that Tesco should adopt certain retention techniques among their strategies to retain their loyal, honest, and trained employee to avoid extra consumption of time.
In addition, due to replacement process the other working employees of the organisation are also affected as they have to spend quality time with the newly appointed employee to help them understand the policies and other procedure of the organisation as a result it affect the work of other employee as well. Therefore, it is important for the Tesco to adopt different measure to avoid the issue of employee turnover as it will directly affect the superstore working of the company as it is analysed in the report of Brunetto

Besides, in the case of Tesco Plc, the company has a very flexible training system for their on-the-job and off-the-job employees to help them learn effective skills in maintain their performance in retail sector. These training sessions has help the company to maintain their capable and effective employees towards the company in order to uphold the working standard in the market place as it is comprehended by Zopiatis
