Sir Ken began speaking about human creativity and the variety and range. He explained how a little girl was drawing a picture in class. The teacher asked what the little girl was drawing, and her answer was, "God." The teacher told the little girl that nobody knew what God looked like, but the little girl's answer was what was interesting. She said , "Now they will." I think that what the situation with the girls thought represented was that children these days need to use their minds in more creative ways, and to learn in more kinesthetic ways rather than focusing only on the two most world wide top learning subjects: math and language. He also mentions that our culture is pedicated on the idea of academic ability, which was because of industrialism, as mentioned before. He said universities have designed their system in this image, which is a process of academic inflation. I had mentioned that I was blessed for a couple reasons earlier, and the first one was that, I feel like my kids are very lucky to possibly be a step ahead of a lot of other schools in San Diego. My kids go to a school that offers art class at least weekly during regular school hours, but also do arts and crafts as part of their learning daily, even when on the subject of math or language.
