Understanding information regarding nutrition is something that is important to everyone. It can allow us to make decisions that can help set a healthy path in our lives, by avoiding those things harmful for the body and consuming those things beneficial. The dietary analysis project has also helped me determine what areas I would need to change regarding the foods and drinks I consume. This project has opened my eyes into realizing that I haven’t been making the healthiest decisions in my life, even though I thought I was. It is important for society as a general to realize the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle because this will help keep the one thing that is important to all of us functioning properly, our bodies.

The one thing I thought was beneficial for me was the website our instructor offered us. I believe that this website will help me keep my calories at the limit I am supposed to be at. Before this class I didn’t realize websites like this existed and I truly think they are amazing. After this class is over I will continue to use this website to monitor what I am eating and drinking. I believe that this is one of the best ways to monitor my intake. Another way I will limit my calories is to avoid eating unhealthy foods that contain large amounts of calories. I will read the labels on everything before consuming. I will also use a piece of paper to monitor my calories as well as using the website. That way I have two ways of keep record. Last, but not least I will avoid buying fatty foods and focus on those foods that are the most beneficial to

    The calculated goal intake for carbohydrates in anywhere in the range of 1134-1639 calories, and my intake was 1087 calories. My value could be low possibly from the fact that I don’t normally eat large entrees that are high in carbohydrate content (i.e. pasta dishes etc) and would rather balance my meals with fruits, vegetables, and some sort of protein source. My other values for protein and fat intake were in range, with protein being more balanced, and my fat intake being on the higher end of the scale.
