1.0 Qantas Airways Limited
The world’s airlines transport more than 3 billion passengers a year and 50 million tonnes of freight. Moreover, provide 9.9 million of jobs and contributes $664.4 billion to global GDP since airline industry plays a major role in global economy. Among airlines, Qantas is one of largest airline in Australia and third oldest airline in the world which is called as "The Flying Kangaroo". Qantas had found in the Queensland outback in 1920, headquarters are established in the Mascot suburb, Sydney, New South Wales. Qantas has provided 182 destinations in 44 countries in Australia, Asia, the Pacific, Americas, Europe, Middle East and Africa destinations which means providing air travelling services to travellers, approximately 32,500 people work with Qantas. Qantas have several number of Airline subsidiaries. Some of them are Australia Asia Airlines, Impulse Airlines, Jet star Airways, Australian Airlines, Qantas Link, Network Aviation, Jet connects, Australian air Express etc. Qantas had 75.6% share of the Australian airline market; Figure 1 is illustrated the total airline market share of Australia. Moreover, 14.9% of all passengers are used Qantas to travel in and out of Australia. The company’s performance level in the recent past has indicated that it is not well because of the competitive scenario as present across the industry (Qantas Airlines, 2014).
