Introduction
The Terrorist Attack List was created shortly after the 9/11 terrorist attack to create an opportunity to collect and share information on known or appropriate suspected terrorists with law enforcement agencies and the intelligence community. Although the list may prevent potential terrorists from harming United States citizens, it also effects much of the innocent in very negative ways. The list uses mechanisms to collect information for the list that is not fair to the population and the list’s existence makes terrorism a greater issue than it actually is in the United States. The Terrorist Attack List should be eliminated.

citizens are placed on the Terrorist Attack List. This affects the innocent’s life in many negative ways. In order for the list to prevent the bad guys, every person in the United States have to be under surveillance, including the innocent. The majority of names of the list are of people that would never think of terrorizing or harming the United States in any way, sub because ever individual is under surveillance by the government, suspicious terrorist activity can be created out of simply having a certain name, being a specific religion, or traveling for no lawful or legitimate purpose. The agency responsible for determining who is on the Terrorist Watch List accepts 98.96 percent of all nominations to the list which means when they screen names there doesn’t need to be strong proof of why specific names are listed. U.S. citizens get affected very negatively when being listed and it is often a life changing event. The consequences of being of list governs the way these people behave, travel, and how they act. Travel is monitored and air travel is completely restricted. If overseas while placed on the list, there is a chance that individual is stranded in that other country. Specific individuals from the list are detained and even tortured by foreign governments for information. This scenario makes me question if the U.S. is setting up the detainment and torture by foreign governments trying to undemocratically receive information from this “terrorist” recently placed on the list. Some situations when individuals tried suing the government for falsely accusing individuals of being a terrorist and those individuals weren’t able to come home after traveling abroad. I will give a specific example of how one innocent American ended up on the Terrorist Attack List. On August 5, 2004, The Anderson family were on their way to Disney Land. John Anderson was stopped in the St. Paul-Minneapolis International Airport by security because it was thought
