America was built by immigrants.” Hillary Clinton spoke those very words, words that should reflect the United States of America but does not. America is known as the melting pot, because of all the cultures that are in the United States. However, there is this great sense of prejudice and discrimination that develops among some people when it comes to immigrants in America. Many Americans believe that immigrants should not be in America, because they are not “American.” These same Americans believe that they do not provide any success to America and should not be inside the borders of the United States. Why should the government decide who should be in this country based on where they came from? I think that is a major issue that is currently going on in today’s world and Documented discusses the issues that goes along with immigration. These individuals live in fear and these individuals wish to be American. However, there is large divide that has been created between Immigrants and many Americans, to the point where there is strong discrimination and stereotypes that play a heavily role between these two groups. I think it is very important that the issues with immigration are closely looked at and that this harsh discrimination against these immigrants come to an end. It is incredibly important that as American citizens, we represent each other and we show kindness to one another. This harsh discrimination and hate for each other must stop, because I think it is dangerous. It causes violence to occur and people shouldn’t feel hate for one another because they are different. Instead, there should be people who are rejoicing in the fact that people travel to America because it is a good country and because people want to be a part of that country.
