Prokaryotes, dating from fossil fuel evidence, have been revealed that they’ve been around for 3.5 billion years, Whereas, Eukaryotes, have been around for only 1.7 billion years. It has been speculated that the eukaryotic cells were evolved by prokaryotes, by symbiosis. Symbiosis is when two different biological species interact with other, for survival. Therefore, the eukaryotes and the prokaryotes share similarities, along with having their own differences. This essay focuses on the characteristics and functions of a prokaryote and a eukaryote.
Prokaryotes, unicellular cells, are much smaller compared to eukaryotes, often multicellular cells. Viruses are much smaller than prokaryotes, however, they aren’t considered as cells. Both viruses and prokaryotes don’t have numerous amounts of organelles in their cells. Prokaryotes only contain certain ones, which help them survive, for example; they have mitochondria, flagella and Nucleoid. Viruses only contain genetic material. Viruses don’t have a cell structure; they’re made …show more content…
Bacterial cells enter the body and find a suitable place to survive, where they can get food and nutrients from, and then it starts to reproduce. Bacteria are curable by taking antibodies. Some have become resistant from unnecessary intake of antibodies. Nevertheless, not all bacteria cells are bad. Evidence has been found to prove that human body have 10 times more bacterial cells than human cells. Some bacterial cells are essential to keep the stomach pH at a certain level and to keep the immune system boosted, protiotics. A virus enters the cell and reproduces from Ribosomes. Some vaccinations have been provided for certain viruses, the rest remain incurable. A recent discovery has shown that not all viruses are dangerous and deadly. A virus can be used to cure brain
