Internet Usage
- Any information accessed on the internet while using company property or during company time will be kept confidential. Unless required by law to surrender or if said information is deemed inappropriate or criminal.
- All computers are preloaded with mal ware, pop up blockers, fire walls and other safety features designed to keep our employees and hardware safe while utilizing the internet. Please remember to update these features and message IT if any issues arise.
- Sites accessed during company time or while using company property is subject to review at any time without notice. Review will only be conducted if sites accessed are suspected to have been inappropriate. Mixing Work and Personal Activities
- While on the “clock”, company property, or conducting company business employees need to refrain from personal activities. The company requests that even during personal time each employee is heedful of their personal activities. Especially, activities that reflect poorly on the company. For example, public intoxication and inappropriate social media pictures
- During work hours personal activities should be limited to break times and lunch time. If a personal emergency should arise please notify immediate supervisor as soon as possible.
- While employed by this company your health, fitness, and nutrition may be monitored. All employees will be made aware prior to monitoring. This monitoring may be required by the company for the purposes of healthcare coverage provided by the company. All personal information gathered will be kept confidential, with the exception of healthcare

I think that as this case presents information which stated, “when the employee were hired, they were told that their computer use was subject to monitoring and that computers should not be used for personal business” this information should have been sufficient enough for Mr. Ziegler to only use his work computer for intended work purposes (Walsh, 2013, p. 619). He should have gained a great understanding for his workplace policy, while using the company’s computer to look up child pornography. The fact that he held a private office still did not make it acceptable for visiting websites that contain pornography.
