Premier Inn is a British budget hotel chain and the UK's biggest hotel brand, with over 50,000 rooms and 700 hotels. LSE-listed Whitbread founded the chain in the "Travel Inn" brand name in 1987 to race with Travelodges (which were at the time owned by Forte). Travel Inn was amalgamated with Premier Lodge to create the present business, purely owned by Whitbread. The auxiliary today accounts for 70% of Whitbread's earnings. Premier Inn manages hotels at a range of locations which includes city centers, suburbs and airports. It is now is the UK and Ireland's largest and fastest growing hotel company. With more than 700 budget hotels providing quality accommodation at reasonable hotel prices.
