Once they were back in the the emergency room the Nurse realized she was having problems breathing and put her on Oxygen. The Doctor came in and decided to do a CT scan and found out she had Blood clots in both lungs and her right leg. After the scan the Doctors told her she was very lucky to be alive.
The Doctors decided they needed to admit her for surgery the following morning. She got her into her room and was set for the night. She was feeling perfectly fine but all of a sudden when she got up she had a horrible pain in her chest, and that’s when her heart had stopped. My Grandpa had been in the room when this happened and called for the Nurses and Doctors. The Doctors said that she need to have surgery immediately, and not for the next day.
We found out that the blood clots stopped the blood flow to her heart. The nurses had to do CPR and her heart started beating again after about 20 secs. They had rushed her immediately to do surgery. During the surgery they ran tubes into her lungs to break up the blood clots, and had to stay on those until the following morning. The next morning the Nurses and Doctors said that they were good to take the tubes out of her lungs. The rest of the day she stayed in ICU until she was set to
