Pancreatic Cyst Story

It was the fall of 2002; it was a very cold and windy fall. The leaves on the trees were almost all off, and snow was just starting to lightly come down from the sky. It was just another normal day for Jennifer, going to work to make some more money to pay bills and everything else that needed to be paid off. Although one day at home, it struck her like no other - the excruciating pain that once consumes her again fills her whole body. This time it was worse, so bad that all she could think about was the pain. As quick as she could, she called for her mother and demanded her to call an ambulance. The doctor, with a worried voice, explains to her that she has a pancreatic cyst that continues to grow; he goes on to tell her that those horrific pains she’s been experiencing are from that. The doctor tells her about the decision she has to make about what she’s going to do about the cyst. She doesn’t realize that the one thing she can do is to drain the softball sized cyst into her stomach so it can shrink. With thoughts rolling through her head, she realizes how this might impact her. She concludes that she’ll do the surgery. As the doctor and jennifer are still talking, Barb and her grandsons come back with half full buckets of candy. At the time, Gauge didn’t know what do with all of that candy; his eyes were practically drooling because of how delicious the candy looked. Quentin, on the other hand, was too young to know what the candy was, but he seemed pretty satisfied with the candy he was trying to eat. The doctor, Jennifer, and Barb all begin to talk about what is going on with Jennifer.
