None of my teachers believed in me. Now, I live in a one bedroom apartment to save money. Each day I come home to bills piling higher than the clouds. I just wish people that live around me would stop judging me based off of my tattoos, but that is my life. One day while walking to work I heard two loud bangs. I looked around me but saw nothing. By the time I got to work things were already busy. The young boy Jimmy that I saw on the side of the road with his mother had been shot. There was no time to waste.
“Get him into to surgery right now!” I yelled.
His mother was waiting for an hour before be were finally done. The surgery was complicated because I didn't want to be responsible for her child's death. When I came out to speak to Jimmy's mother she was in shock.
“I cannot believe this. You are the guy who helped save my son?”
I couldn't tell if she was happy or upset. Within a few seconds of getting herself together she hugged me.
“I am so sorry for judging you.”
From that moment forward people started to trust me. No no one walked to the other side of the street when they saw me. I became everyone
