It was a sunny summer day, June 21, 2017 when i was headed to the hospital at exactly 4:00 pm. I was going to get surgery on my right ankle to take out some screws that were on my foot for over 6 six years. However, it was stressing about how i was going to be able to pass my Eng 102 dual enrollment class. It was stressing that i had 1 week left and had to work on an 2 page letter and a final essay that were due on the last day of class.
I joined the dual enrollment program(A.C.E) the summer of 2016 and since then i have had good grades in my previous courses taken and in my English 102 class i had a C already which was not ok; although, i had a C i wanted bring up at least to a B but it was going to be difficult if i missed a day. I was able to finish my essay and letter and even on the essay the teacher loved and wrote many good compliments. My Eng 102 professor Mrs.Cunningham gave me props for sticking and not giving up in the last days. She knew how hard it was and maybe if it would've been someone weaker they would've gave up so I put that in mind and feel proud for being strong.
I was affected by this experience mentally since i stressed so much over just trying to figure out how i was going to face this challenge and how to overcome it. The stress was so intense that at times i just felt like quitting the program and paying the required amount of about 275 dollars. Even though it was stressing i was able to overcome it and now i'm doing great.
Myself motivation to never quit no matter what happens in life is a phrase i heard many times by my mom and dad. Keeping those wise words in mind i believe helped me to push forward to not give up and try my best in any situation that I'm going through. My family comes from a Hispanic background where in the U.S are seen as minorities ;however, they have always advised me wisely to do the best. That's why I want make them proud by going college and major in criminal justice to be an FBI agent to be able serve the community and the

No one had to ever ask me if I was going to college because they all knew that the answer is yes. We have all been hit with the reality of struggles in life. That’s why I learned quickly that you don’t just go to college so you can get a better education you have to be able to do something with that education.…

There was this competitive scholarship that my school offered to the top three best essay writers. To qualify, you had to be accepted into a four year college, your GPA had to be higher than a 3.6, and you had to be a minority. I had to do my best because there were a lot of great writers that were competing. The essay prompt was “What would it mean to you to be awarded a NaphCare Foundation Scholarship?” I thought about things in my life that means a lot to me, so I began to write about how this scholarship will help benefit me and how much it would mean to be awarded it.…

During the spring semester of my tenth-grade year, I enrolled at Canada College as a concurrent enrollment student. During my time at Canada, I developed key communication skills that assisted me in creating close and deep ties with my community. Currently, I am the co-founder and treasurer of the Civil Liberties Club at Canada. It was never a part of my plan to develop or run a club like this, especially as a concurrent enrollment student, but now I cannot think about living without this club. I have helped to create a platform for my peers and I to engage in dialogue regarding pressing issues that have been, oftentimes, disregarded.…

That's a good thing but, at the same time I don't like it for the reason that I'm also taking 4 other classes that I have to be present and I get out until night for the reason that I had to get my classes to fit my little sisters schedule to take care of her when my parents are at work. I was certain of two things in my life. The first was that I only wanted to attend Rutgers University for college and the second was my love for track and field. I was a student-athlete my first year of college and I would never forget one memory that made a lasting impact on my life. It was a five kilometer race in which the main runners of the race actually ran off-course and had to be led back onto the right course for the race. I was one of the top runners and I had followed my competitors into the wrong direction.…
