How we value our life’s
Today, people value their lives differently, than how the did in the 1800’s. The money helps cover funeral costs and burial costs. Being able to receive money from the government, is a blessing itself; so you don’t have to struggle, to bury a loved one. The way people value their lives is one of the most important things in human life.
I agree with all of the texts claims. In Hamlet, he says, “ To die, to sleep no more- and by a sleep to say we end the heartache, and the thousand natural shocks flesh is here to. ( Hamlet,
Prince of Denmark, Act III, scene II).” He is explaining, that when you fall asleep, all your problems go away. So when you pass, or …show more content…
He wants to die, because, his father’s tragic death, his uncle becoming the king of denmark, and his mother marrying his uncle. So he believes, that he has nothing to live for. He doesn’t value his life. Because, he doesn’t want to live any longer.
People have believed that he has gone mad for this reason.
Roger Ebert’s outlook on life, is different from Hamlet’s. Roger, was more optimistic than hamlet. He believed, that everything has a purpose no matter what it is. He was diagnosed with cancer in his jaw, in 2006. This made his life go in a downwards spiral, for a little while.
Ebert was on his way home, from his first major surgery and; his carotid artery bursted. All of the doctors, rushed to his room to try to stop the bleeding. After this incident, he had a couple more surgeries. His wife chaz, was one of his main supporters during his journey. She and Roger had a positive outlook, throughout all of his surgeries. Roger had a dream one night and said, “
Never yet a dream where I can’t talk, Sometimes i discover-oh, I see1 I can talk! I just forget to do it. ( Roger Ebert; The essential Man).” Even though, he had cancer in his jaw and it …show more content…
Roger, was content with his life, even when he was going through a rough time in his life. Amanda Ripley, made fine statements in her article. She stated that all the people that were killed in the 9/11 crashing. Each family, will receive government aid, to bury their loved one. Having a Value on your life, is very important, if you think like Hamlet, you're not going to have a very positive life. If you do have positive outlooks in life, then you’ll have a wonderful one.
