Pink Star Of David Book Report

2) The cover of my story book has a pink Star of David with the title “Bat Mitzvah” on a scroll which represents the Torah. At the top, the Hebrew name “Becky” is spelled out in multicoloured stickers. All of this is on a white sheet of paper that is on top of a black binder.

First of all, the reason I put the white sheet on top of the black binder instead of just placing the images on it is because of the contrast in your beliefs and the story. Next the logic behind the pink Star of David was because I wanted to show Becky’s femininity and a bright colour catches people’s eyes more often than not. As for Becky’s name in the title, I wanted it to look like a children's so the colours and glitter would help with that. I also didn’t want the

Ofrendas are collections of objects that are commonly used to honor loved ones during the day of the dead. I created an ofrenda for Barry Allen. Barry Allen was The Flash, he saved many lives during his lifetime. Barry died not only saving our universe, but an infinite number of universes when the multiverse was in danger. Within my ofrenda I have “marigold petals”, a glass of water, black skull, The Flash helmet, candles, pictures of Barry’s loved ones and many pictures of Barry as The Flash.…

In Jennifer Price’s “The Plastic Pink Flamingo: A Natural History”, Price shapes the text into her view of the American culture. Through her use of words and context, we see that Price does not have a good deal of respect towards it. First of all, if a writer reveals how they feel about the United States through talk about pink, plastic flamingos, I’d have to say they don’t think too highly about our culture. Flamingos started growing in popularity ever since Miami Beach’s first grand hotel was named “The Flamingo” in 1910.…

    The Pink Triangle Summary

    • 361 Words
    • 2 Pages

Branded by the Pink Triangle by Ken Setterington is set in the time in which the First and Second World Wars took place when Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Party were in power in Germany. During this period, homosexuals were severely discriminated against and deprived of most of their civil rights. However, there was a time before Hitler’s reign when homosexuals strived in Berlin and lived their lives freely without a worry that Nazis will come to take them from their families. Paragraph 175 was the German Code that made the sexual interaction between males a crime, and eventually made everything a crime for the enemies of the Nazis. If two men were together, they were reported by a neighbor or bystander to the police, and later put on the “Pink…

At the beginning of this project, coming up with a theme was quite easy but connecting them all together using different genres seemed like an almost impossible task. As I thought more about it, I decided to use the green light as my theme because I felt like the light was a big part of the book since it represents an unattainable dream or future. In this box, you are gonna see four different types of genres such as a found poem, a newspaper article about Gatsby’s parties, a drawing, and a movie trailer. I chose these four genres because I can really describe my theme through them.…

The importance of family heritage and tradition is demonstrated throughout Alice Walker’s work, “Everyday Use.” A family’s heritage reflects their relative’s beliefs or nationality and usually includes an important item that is being passed down throughout many generations. There are many symbols that influence Walker’s writing and reveal the theme of the story. Although Mama, the narrator, and one of her daughters, Maggie, understand the value of family heritage, the older daughter, Dee, has a different view on this concept. Even though the two sisters, Dee and Maggie, were raised under the same roof, there are a numerous amount of characteristics that differ between the two siblings.…

In the Novel Under A Cruel Star, Heda Margolius Kovaly sheds light on the repercussions of not only the German concentration camps in World War 2, but also shows how the War led to the adoption, practice, and repercussions of a hostile communist government. In this novel courage, not only in a power to survive, but in a power to provide for family, is the most prevalent issue brought about in Hedas retelling of her time in the concentration camps and her time as wife to a communist official. One of the most endearing facts about Heda in her retelling of her experiences is that fact how despite everything that she had observed, participated in, and been subjected to she still remained “human” in that she was not misguided by hate and anger but…

What intrigued most about 1984 is the symbolism it held. This is why I wanted to recreate a book cover that held a great amount of symbolism and a visual art piece that channels the many themes explored within the text. When writing 1984, I believe George Orwell’s style of writing and point in conveying actions were quite distinctive. His syntax gave off a tone of hopelessness and warning. A slow and fearful journey we follow Winston through that book…
