One of the main reason is that they believe it is not head on competition with other team. For this reason, they explain that cheerleaders does not have a team to go directly against them to win. Moreover, in cheerleading there is not much competition and that cheerleader just dancing and getting the crowd going for other sports. Although if you were to ask the countless people that has been a part of competitive cheerleading they will argue that cheer is a sport for they have the same obstacles as any other sport.
