However, even if the owners do acquire permits, their dogs will be very susceptible to seizures or to being euthanized. Pit Bulls have been seen as vicious and monstrous dogs for decades and it is hard to change so many people’s minds about something they are set on. People object to adopting Pit Bulls out because they do not know their ‘history’, but to be honest, you don’t know the history of any dog that you adopt from a pound or shelter. In Maddern’s (2014) article, she talks to different people in Newark that have adopted a Pit Bull from a rescue center, like the Humane Society. One of these people was Mike Ossa Jr. Ossa adopted his Pit, Roscoe after returning home from his tour in Afghanistan.…

The article "Tia Maria Torres" stated "Here the pit bulls and their parolee handlers get a second chance. For some, it's the last chance. In a city where nearly 70 percent of shelter dogs are pit bulls, lucky ones like Moose are rescued and retrained by Torres and now appear in music videos with the likes of J-Lo"(Horton). This shows that when a pit bull gets that chance to be rehabilitated, they could have a great life. They could be loved instead of abused with your help.…

Pit bulls need to learn how to interact with other living things so it does not come as an immense shock to them when they become in a situation where they are surrounded by strangers. According to barksoflove.org, if the pit bull is a young puppy, it needs to be given "daily socialization opportunities with new people and animals...". While recently looking up Canadian laws, Animal Rights popped up and seemed very intriguing. From thereon, the Dog Owners Liability Act surfaced and it states “The owner of a dog is liable for damages resulting from a bite or attack by the dog on another person or domestic animal.” This law does make sense that the owner should take the responsibility of their dog because they were the ones who raised the dog to be the way it is but the one sub issue found with this law is the Pit Bull Ban. The total ban on the Pit Bull breed in Ontario is unacceptable because the government shouldn’t be targeting just the one breed because of the actions of several individual dogs, Pit Bulls shouldn’t be treated differently from other breeds, and if the government is already banning a whole breed, what is going to stop them from banning a bunch of other breeds that have the same attack numbers. Throughout this essay, it will be proven that the total ban of Pit Bulls is ridiculous and the law should be revoked.…

Should Pit Bulls Be Banned? Pit bulls may be the most widely misunderstood breed of dog. Their reputation is one of brutality and ferocity, and assumptions are made for the entire breed based on the poor, misrepresented actions of a few canines. Allowing for a minority of pit bulls to speak for the entire breed is a concept in which Americans are well versed, often tolkenizing one on the behalf of many. Because of this tendency to allow for one to speak for an entire group or population, it is even more important that humans stop to address any bias that exists within them without a broader knowledge of an issue.…

Pit Bulls Should Not Be Banned Pit bulls are often called violent dogs. They are stigmatized as the breed often known as fighting dogs. These dogs are singled out to be restrained or banned and are put to death just for their breed. In Lafayette, Louisiana, two men were arrested for dog fighting and fifty-seven pit bulls were confiscated. Pitbulls are very loyal dogs their good with children, they love humans, and are even used as service dogs to help those with disabilities and the media doesn 't portray this part about pit bulls. What the media targets are only things that would come to a shock or surprise to the society and the problem with this is that the media is not always correct about they say because they focus on one side of the story and what they see, what they leave out is cause of the situation or the background of it. For example, according to the article “ The Pit bull Placebo” “ In the 1970s the practice of dog fighting was becoming more aware to the public and in 1976 a californian boy was killed by a dog that was described to be a Bulldog, Bull terrier,…
