This part of the personality type describes the way in which a person perceives information. Being considered intuitive means “a person believes mainly information he or she receives from the internal or imaginative world” (Personality Type Explained, n.d.). In reference to myself I do not believe this portion of the personality typing system accurately describes me. Whenever I gain information I do so from the world around me. For example when I decided to buy my first car I did online research to determine what models were the best to meet my needs. I also talked with family and friends that were familiar with the automotive industry to gain their insight. I am a strong researcher and believe in being well equipped with knowledge in any venture that I may pursue. The third component of ENTJ is “Thinking”. This portion of the personality description refers to how one makes decisions or solves problems, utilizing logic or emotion. Being considered a “Thinking” type versus “Feeling” means that I have a tendency to utilize logic. I strongly agree that this is a valid part of who I am. When teaching in my classroom I routinely analyze student data and determine what my next instructional steps must be using the information I have collected. In my profession I am also required to only discuss facts in reference to students as all decisions are based upon apparent facts rather than feelings or thoughts.
Judging
Judging is the final component of the ENTJ personality type. This component describes an individual as “Judging” or Perceiving”. “Judging means that a person organizes all of his life events and, as a rule, sticks to his plans” (Personality Type Explained, n.d.). This portion of my personality type also describes me very accurately. When I was a high school student going into college I was very particular and had a plan of action for every action I made. It was very important for me to analyze what I needed to do, what resources I had to accomplish it, make a plan, and then follow through with it.
