Also in this past summer, I became legally able to drive at free will. I received my full license in mid-July so with that, I needed a car. Luckily, I was able to find a seller who was selling a used car, and let’s just say I was able to receive a special discount. This seller was no other than my dad. He was getting rid of his current car in order to buy a better and newer one. It was a silver 2002 Nissan Pathfinder with almost 105,000 miles on it. In case you didn’t know, it is basically an off-road SUV and what I love about it is that it is the SE version, or the sportier version. This means it comes with certain special additions, such as my favorite which is the sunroof. When this car officially became mine, I knew that it was an old car (14 years!) that has been used a lot based on the mileage. I know close to nothing about cars but I know that they aren’t built to last for that long with that kind of usage. That made me realize that I really need to take care of it and keep it in good condition otherwise I’m going to have to buy another car again. My goal was to not just get the car nice and clean, but to actually get in the engine and really maximize the usage on it. In my house, the only person who would know anything about a car or how they operate is my dad. Unfortunately, during the summer, he works mornings and/or afternoons and comes home at night, and I have work in afternoons and/or night. That left only me to work on the car.
