Personal Narrative: Life After The Civil War

I am a union soldier named Henry Stox. There is a war going on that I must go to fight in. This war is very important to keep in mind. Slavery is going on at this time also. This time in history is called the civil war and also a very painful time in my life before and after the battle. Some battles and wars can last for days, some weeks, and some months. You are lucky to even come out alive. I have two children named Carla and Sam and a beautiful wife named Samantha Stox. We live in a very small house in Maryland.

So this is the night before battle. I am getting ready to go fight in the battle of Antietam. I really don’t know how to fell at this time. My family don’t really know what will become of us we also don’t like the idea that I have …show more content…
Also women would help wounded soldiers if they are hurt and make sure the soldiers have food. There were plenty of things for the women to do except fight that was one thing women could not do at all. In a couple of years my son Sam will be coming with me to fight in battles I really do not think a child that young should have to such a thing but they do. I hear all the time about some parents hiding there little boys.

I really think my side of the battle will win like we always do because we are better than the confederate soldiers. We wanted things to better for our people. We had better weapons also and a good leader. Slavery Was also a bad problem because lots of africans were being brought to america to be sold and work for the white slave masters. Some did not do what the whites wanted them to do and they would be wiped and killed it just depended on what you did.

I am very sad about going to leave my family for the civil war , but these things must end to make our country a better place. My side will win i just know they will because we always
