Marissa, I agree with your post. Patients often know when they are receiving very great care, however it is often the health care team that do not keep everyone informed of what will take place and what the procedures will and will not work and why. It is often that everyone that is inclusive of the team is not informed such as the patient's family. I often hear patient centered care, but as Dr. DiGola states, keeping everyone inform it is PFCC, Patient, Family Centered Care, which includes everyone from inception to discharge, which keeps everyone informed. Which results in better outcomes and better satisfaction surveys (DiGiola, T., 2013).
